CREA has teamed up with Warren Wilson College (USA) to undertake an ambitious mapping project for the Cocobolo Nature Reserve and the surrounding Mamoni Valley using a Geographic Information System (GIS). This project, generously funded by SENACYT, is underway and a spatial database of natural resources and biodiversity is currently being developed. In addition, a prototype wireless sensor network is being developed to study the feasibility of gathering micro-climate data in a reforestation plot.
