Tours Education Rainforests

We provide specialized educational tourism packages for families and small groups. From birdwatching groups to those who just want to learn about the conservation of tropical ecosystems or about rural and indigenous cultures of Panama.

  • Educate yourself about the real issues causing the deforestation of tropical rainforests
  • Visit poor rural villages that are dependent on rainforests to see the work that CREA is doing to improve understanding and conditions
  • Visit tropical rainforests with a guide to learn about the beauty and wonder of this incredible ecosystem

We undertake specialised tours in Panama for school groups and undertake summer abroad courses for undergraduates. Our curricula for school groups can be tailored to personal needs, while our undergraduate courses in conservation and sustainable development are held over 4 weeks of study and are accredited by Florida State University.

Testimonials

The rainforests of Panama are home to over 900 species of birds, thousands of species of trees, hundreds of amphibians and the list goes on. Neotropical ecosystems are second to none in respect to their complexity and diversity. Cocobolo Nature Reserve incorporates 1000 acres of rainforest that is bordered by the indigenous rainforest preserve of the Kuna people.

  • More than 50% of all terrestrial species are found in tropical rainforests
  • Tropical rainforests cover less than 6% of the Earth´s terrestrial surface
  • 25% of all CO2 produced comes from the burning of rainforests
  • Over 30 million acres of tropical rainforests are destroyed each year

Cocobolo Nature Reserve, Panama, is managed by the non profit organization Conservation through Research Education and Action in a unique alliance that synergises the development needs of local communities and environments with sustainable educational tourism.
