Testimonials

“CREA takes the organizational overhead out of my Study Abroad program.  The CREA team takes care of all of the in country program planning,  transportation, logistics, meals, and lodging.  In addition, CREA’s international team, which includes researchers from Belgium, Colombia, Panama, and the United States, provides field-based and hands-on educational content that is truly unique. These opportunities provide students with unique academic perspectives,  service-learning opportunities and what my students describe as life changing experiences.  CREA’s comprehensive educational program allows me to concentrate on my #1 priority:  my students.”

“I have travelled to Cocobolo three times with a group of students and plan to go many more times.  It is educational for both the students and me and allows us all to participate in real ongoing research projects.  The trip has been life changing for me.  I have a whole new outlook on the importance of biodiversity and conservation of the rainforest in Panama and beyond.  I am able to bring back new ideas to my classroom and discuss examples of current research in conservation biology.  I can also can see the power of one to help in the reforestation effort and inspire others to do the same.  I am most grateful for the opportunity to do citizen science research and further my own knowledge and career as a teacher.”

My experience planning a study abroad course with CREA was phenomenal. The staff at Cocobolo were extremely accommodating and professional, and I knew were in good hands within hours of landing in Panama City. It’s a relief to know in the future courses I will have such a reliable partner to help me implement my course on Tropical Ecology and Conservation! Visiting the beautiful and diverse Cocobolo Nature Preserve was the highlight the trip for my students and I. Can’t wait to visit again!
